IOSH Working Safely Course Information
Upon successful completion of the course and assessment, students are awarded a Working Safely certificate from the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH), the world’s largest health and safety membership organisation
Course requirements
There are no entry requirements for this certificate, however it is important that learners have a suitable standard of English language in order to understand and articulate the concepts contained in the course.
Course overview
The course is divided into four modules:
- Introducing working safely
- Defining hazard and risk
- Identifying common hazards
- Improving safety performance.

Regardless of your chosen route of study, you will have the option to complete your assessment on line, whereby you will receive instant results and feedback.
To achieve your IOSH Working Safely certificate you must complete one assessment:
- An online 30 multi-format questionnaire with hazard spotting exercises.

An IOSH Working Safely or Managing Safely certificate is valid for life. We do recommend that you regularly refresh your knowledge.
2. What happens if I have to re-sit my assessment?
We will continue to offer you support and access to resources until you pass. We will provide two free attempts on your assessment, thereafter the assessment fees are not included.

If you can’t find time in your busy schedule to attend a classroom course, then online training is the answer.
The structured online programme includes interactive modules, a 3D hazard spotting exercise and practice assessments. You have five months to complete the course and assessments.
Important message:
As of 12 May 2017 Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) will no longer accept IOSH Working Safely certificates achieved via an e-learning assessment as a route to obtaining the green Labourer card.
