Matthew Frost from FCDO Services discusses his experience studying the NEBOSH Diploma with British Safety Council.
Matthew Frost, Senior Health and Safety Advisor at FCDO Services, undertook his NEBOSH Level 6 National Diploma for Occupational Health and Safety Management Professionals with British Safety Council. Matthew was looking to advance his career to a health and safety manager position and believes that British Safety Council provided him with the platform and support to do that.
Matthew won the “Best Candidate” Award for achieving the highest mark (above all other candidates and training providers globally) for the first unit of the Diploma, with an impressive score of 95%. When asked about his experience learning with us, Matthew said “I loved the way it was set up, [I’m] a really strong advocate for the tutor-led study because I think you get really good interaction. You’re able to ask all the dumb questions you want and get them answered.”
Matthew took part in one of British Safety Council’s exam preparation days which he thought was fantastic as you can complete practical exam questions, get them marked, and learn from the feedback provided. Matthew reinforced the value of virtual classroom learning at British Safety Council, saying the tutor is “able to give you practical examples from his background and life experiences that really bring the course material home for you.”
When asked what advice he would give to learners just starting their Diploma journey, Matthew said “Listen to your tutor’s advice, when he says about how many hours to dedicate to the revision, listen to him and put in the time to do the reading. Do the wider reading that British Safety Council gives you to help direct your studies. Do the exam preparation days and make the most of your tutor, send him all the practice answers that you write so you can get marks, hints, and tips.”
Matthew’s result is a true testament to the hard work, dedication, and commitment he gave to the course. Congratulations again, Matthew!
