As an advocate for a holistic approach to worker health Nathan, as the Chief Executive of IOM – the Institute of Occupational Medicine, is well placed to facilitate the conversation on preventing occupational illness. In the UK we have, over the past 50 years managed safety in the workplace well. Our approach to health has not, until recently, seen the same level of engagement from policy makers, employers and the workforce. With a mandate to protect and improve health through the workplace IOM brings together the scientific evidence of illness causes and helps organisations to understand and solve workplace health issues with pragmatic solutions to occupational health issues.
