Course overview

Working with Hazardous Substances is divided into three interactive modules:

Module 1 – Learners examine what is meant by a hazardous substance, how they can get into the body and how they can cause harm. Learners look at a range of workplace activities where hazardous substances are used or generated.

Module 2 – Learners focus on COSHH risk assessment and the risk factors that should be considered. They are introduced to safety data sheets as a key source of information when assessing risk.

Module 3 – Learners consider how risks from hazardous substances can be controlled and managed. They take a virtual tour of a workplace and consider the various risks and controls as they go.

Learners must pass a short multiple-choice assessment to complete the course.
